Boundaries — An art of self love
In this blog post I would be writing about boundaries and things I think that would help you set healthy, self-care and aligned boundaries.
What are self-care boundaries?
It is an the practice of openly communicating and asserting your personal values (self-care values) as a way to preserve or protect them from being compromised or violated.
From everything I’ve learnt about setting boundaries in my self-love journey, one of the things I’ve discovered is that in setting firm boundaries, you need to trust yourself, trust your soul, your body, your feelings, your gut instincts, your intuition cuz they all together help you set healthy, self-care and aligned boundaries in life
To set boundaries, you first need to know your self-care values, your true values. Get clear on that.
For example, if your self care value is to love your imperfections, you would practice not being around people or entertaining conversations that makes you feel hate for your imperfections, you would also set boundaries for yourself to practice letting go of judgmental thoughts from your mind.
Another example, if your self care value is to put yourself and needs first. You would create boundaries or structures that helps you not to over-give or that would help you let go of situations that makes you not prioritise your needs.
Another example, if your self care value is to have a good emotional health or mental health, you would practice setting structures that helps you create emotional and mental peace and safety.
Let your soul be your guide in this journey. Let your feelings guide you.
Let your soul guide you in setting your physical, mental, emotional boundaries. Trust yourself in this journey. Setting boundaries is not about being perfect or trying to be perfect, it is about trusting yourself, your truth and values, it is all about honoring and trusting your NOs and YES’es, trusting your feelings, trust when you’re turned off, trust when things don’t align with you, trusting your gut instincts and listening to your gut. It is the practice of honoring your values.
TRUST YOUR NO’S
This is a whole ass lifetime journey, nothing to rush, just trust and listen.
